2020 Rotary Partner Events Descriptions
1. Sunday March 29 Madison Local Company Tour 10 am – 1 pm- No cost
Tour of EPIC SYSTEMS –an innovative local health care software campus. Leave curling club at 10 am and return at 1 pm. Company founded in 1979 by Judith Faulkner with 10, 000 employees. Five Themed Buildings with interesting designs like Harry Potter themed rooms, a slide and a 100 year old carousel. Imagine working at this fun place!
2. Monday, March 30 Shopping Excursion- no cost
All day trip to Wisconsin Dells outlet mall shopping. Many brands like Coach, Talbots, Vera Bradley. Get your gifts for home at a discount. Lunch on own. Pick up 9 am at Edgewater Hotel. Return by 4 pm.
3. Tuesday March 31 Chazen Museum of Art with Lunch Cost $25 USD 9:30 am- 3 pm
Docent guided tour of the beautiful art museum located on the edge of the UW Madison campus. 2020 is the museum’s 50th Anniversary. Special exhibits include university art this spring. Chazen was renamed in 2005 after a $20 million expansion donated by UW alumni Jerome Chazen- founder of Liz Claiborne. 20,000 works of arts! One of our own curlers will be your docent!
Lunch follows at University Club- a favorite of professors! Located in an Old Tudor building. Shopping on State Street after.
4. Wednesday April 1- Rotary Meeting and Lunch – included in Guest entry fee for bonspiel
5. Thursday April 2 Cost $85 US HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! TOP Choice! Tour to Taliesin including lunch/ + shopping stop on way back to Madison
All day tour – Bus pickup 8:30 am from Edgewater Hotel – return at 4:00 pm
Taliesin is the home, studio, school, and 800-acre estate of Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959). Taliesin is the name of Wright’s 37,000 square foot home as well as the estate that includes buildings from nearly every decade of Wright’s career from the 1890s to the 1950s. Taliesin is designated as a National Historic Landmark and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Frank Lloyd Wright is a renowned American architect and many buildings in Madison, Illinois, and the US were designed by him. Located in Spring Green- one hour from Madison- countryside beautiful setting. Who is to say who influenced who but Charles Renne Macintosh and Frank Lloyd Wright certainly were the 2 premier groundbreaking architects of their day and completely ahead of their time. This should prove to be a very interesting tour.
This is a 2 hour docent lead walking tour of the house, gardens and courtyard. Wear comfortable shoes. Lunch will be at Taliesin Riverview Terrace Café and Gift shop stop after the tour.
Also shopping Stop on way back to Madison at The Shoe Box- thousands of shoes!

6. Friday, April 2nd – Partner’s Curling Game at Madison Curling Club Draw Time to be announced.
Bring your curling shoes, gloves and wear warm clothes. Brooms and stabilizers are available for use.

State Capitol Tours-- Monday through Saturday at 9:00, 10:00, 11:00 a.m. and 1:00, 2:00, 3:00 p.m.; and Sundays at 1:00, 2:00, 3:00 p.m. A 4:00 p.m. tour is offered weekdays (Monday - Friday). Very interesting- about 30-45 minute tour.

Outdoor gardens open 9am-4 pm--- Free Admission
Bolz Conservatory- tropical gardens- open 10 am -4 pm -- $2 USD/pp
